On October 25th, 2013, Dr. Clare Furneaux from Department of Applied Linguistics at the University of Reading was invited to the School of Foreign Languages to give a lecture on how to develop writing skills.
Dr. Clare Furneaux first put forward that there were three major perspectives in research of writing in the last 30 years: writing as process, product and social activity. Next, she explained the reasons why we teach writing and why we write at universities.
Dr. Clare Furneaux’s lecture was well received by the audience. At the end of the lecture, she answered the questions from teachers and students.
